The Voyageur Trail Association (VTA) vision is to work with volunteers and partner organizations to build a continuous wilderness-style hiking trail from Sudbury through Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay, a distance of some 1,100 km paralleling the rugged Northern Ontario shores of Lake Huron and Lake Superior.

We always need help clearing trails, keeping the guidebook up to date, writing stories about trail adventures, etc. Please check the list of current needs or contact us if you can devote some time on or off the trail.

Volunteer Coordinator Needed:Working with the membership coordinator and the president, the volunteer coordinator will focus on the recruitment, organization and recognition of volunteers. Recruitment includes updating volunteer websites, posting volunteer requirements on social media and investigating membership forms for members that have volunteered to help out. Organization refers to the listing of type of volunteer, contact information and mobilizing those volunteers when needed. Recognition of volunteers refers to the organizing of the yearly draw for free memberships for volunteers, as well as collecting nominations for internal awards and external awards.
Skills needed
Use of computer and internet needed. Social media is optional. Able to communicate easily with people.

Adopt a Trail
Would you like to have your very own section of trail? Adopters inspect the trial yearly, provide reports for updated trail conditions and do regular light maintance thermselves or request help if heavier maintenance is required.


The VTA is a registered non-profit, charitable organization which issues tax certificates for all contributions. If you would like to help with a donation please contact us or click the button below.
