Here's a little Saulteaux (pronounced Sue-toe) Club history...

- first section built: Maki Road to Goulais Avenue on November 23, 1974
- whole section officially opened on September 21, 1975 at a ceremony at Gros Cap before a crowd of approximately 150 people
- first New Year's outing was held in 1975
- first Mother's Day outing was held in 1986
- helped to establish the Sault Trails Action Committee (STAC) to plan and build the SSM HUB TrailThe Saulteaux Voyageur Trail Club schedules over 30 outings a year including hikes, trail maintenance, snowshoes, bushwhack skiis and backpacking. You do NOT have to be fit to participate! We schedule several outings a year for small children and/or beginners. If in doubt, call the leader. He/She will be most willing to let you know how long you can expect to be out and what kind of terrain you may be covering. Then decide if that particular outing is for you. Come out and try us out! You are more than welcome!

**A note for hikers planning to park their vehicles on Goulais Avenue. Do NOT park in the Camp Korah parking lot. Due to dumping and damage to school property the gate can be closed and locked at any time, day or night, so even if it is open, it may not remain that way for long and your vehicle could be locked in!

Crimson Ridge Loop (A9) (pdf brochure)(yellow blazed)(adopted by Doris Welz): good (Sept 2010).

Goulais Avenue (A8) to end of Peoples Road (A10) (adopted by Horst Wetzl):good shape (expect wet feet over beaver dam).

Good shape (November 2008)

Highway 17 (A12) to Crystal Creek (A15) (available for adoption): good (May 2011).
